Understanding export and export documentation (BCC Accredited)

May 23 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

This course is suitable for beginners who are new to their role in Export or who haven’t had any formal training. For delegates that have previously attended our non-BCC Beginners Export course, this would also be an ideal course to follow on.

It would also suit more experienced staff looking for a refresher and wanting to update their knowledge.

Course content

Throughout the day, the delegate will see the end-to-end Export process and gain an understanding of the Export documentation requirements, including knowledge on shipping, using freight forwarders and couriers.

There will be numerous opportunities for questions throughout the day, and there will be reviews and discussions on the processes from enquiry to dispatch.

The subjects covered include:

  • Receiving the Enquiry
  • Responsibilities and roles
  • Incoterms ® 2020
  • Methods of Payment and the Risk Ladder
  • Export Controls and Licence Requirements
  • Quotation
  • Order Acknowledgment / Pro Forma Invoice
  • Pre-shipment Inspections / Packing
  • Shipping Documents to include Invoices and Packing Lists
  • Commodity Codes
  • Origin
  • Preference Documents
  • Certificates of Origin
  • Move the Goods
  • Transport Considerations
  • Book the Shipment and Freight Forwarder Responsibilities
  • Contracts of Carriage / Transport documentation
