Business Grant funding Available

We are delighted to inform you two schemes for Business Grant funding in the Birmingham area are now open.

West Midlands Grant Programme (WMGP) is open to small to medium sized businesses which are based within, or locating to, the Birmingham City Council area.

The assistance from WMGP is in the form of a grant contribution of between £2,500 – £7,500 for brand new start-ups or businesses trading less than 6 months looking to consolidate

The assistance from WMGP is in the form of a grant contribution of between £5,000 – £100,000* for the following activities:

·       Relocation, expansion and growth of existing businesses

·       Develop new markets opportunities

·       Promotional activities

·       Innovation – Including the development of new products including prototyping, testing and commercialisation

·       Improving systems and processes

·       Capital investment, e.g., new plant, machinery and equipment

·       Increase in productive capacity of new and existing premises through new property builds/refurbishment/extensions.

 

·       We expect most applications to apply for an average grant of between £10,000 to £20,000, and only in exceptional circumstances will grants above this be considered. This is to make sure that the limited WMGP budget is given to as many businesses as possible.

Net Zero Grant Programme (NZGP)

is open to small to medium sized businesses which are based within, or locating to, the Birmingham City Council area.

The assistance from NZGP is in the form of a grant contribution of between £2,500 – £7,500 for brand new start-ups or businesses trading less than 6 months looking to consolidate

The assistance from NZGP is in the form of a grant contribution of between £5,000 – £100,000* for existing businesses (more than 6 months trading) The capital grants will support businesses to purchase assets that will support them to become more efficient and cost effective. Grants will cover energy/resource efficiency improvements to business premises. For example -but not limited to-:

·       Ventilation (fans, distribution, destratification fans)

·       Heating (replacement boilers, burners, heat pumps)

·       Renewable technologies

·       Lighting (LED, controls, sensors)

·       Refrigeration

·       Compressors

·       Insulation

·       Recycling & Waste (compactors, balers & crushers)

·       Water management

 

·       We expect most applications to apply for an average grant of between £10,000 to £20,000, and only in exceptional circumstances will grants above this be considered. This is to make sure that the limited NZGP budget is given to as many businesses as possible.

Grant funding is limited and offered on a first come, first served basis.
