STORTEC Engineering Ltd was incorporated in early 2018 when five former colleagues re-united to establish a new bulk liquid storage supply and installation business. The opportunity arose following the unfortunate demise of a major UK contributor to the market.
Between them, the five executive Directors of STORTEC Engineering had over 150 years’ experience in the bolted-tank and membrane gas holder industry spanning 40 years. STORTEC Engineering was formed with the vision to be the leading provider of Liquid and Biogas storage solutions; a sustainable business with the right values, working in collaboration with partner companies to understand, design and deliver optimal solutions, instilling confidence and ensuring long-life asset value. The management team quickly gained support from a major industrial Client.
Funding was secured via the GVO-B1 investment group, backed by a major Swiss investment management company. This enabled STORTEC Engineering to invest in the people, software and construction equipment necessary to quickly become established as a major sub-contractor within the water and renewable energy sectors.
By supplying directly to major UK contractors, water authorities, and end-user renewable energy generators, turn-over has grown to nearly £10M within the first three years of trading. During this period, STORTEC Engineering has supplied tanks and gas holders to most of the UK water authorities, via major contractors such as Costain, NMCN, Thames Water, MWH Treatment, Stantec, Skanska, Volker Stevens, JN Bentley, Galliford Try, etc.
