R-Tech Materials Ltd consists of two trading companies, R-Tech Services Ltd and R-Tech Consultants Ltd.
R-Tech Services provides independent UKAS accredited testing services for the reinforcing steel sector. R-Tech Materials are considered as the market leader in this sector, undertaking a wide range of testing for global clients including steel mills, fabricators, and certification bodies. Further, R-Tech Services also undertakes a range of UKAS and NADCAP accredited mechanical and thermal testing for composite and polymer materials.
R-Tech Consultants specialises in failure investigation, particularly in the oil and gas, petrochemical, power, and process industries, where we have established an enviable reputation for the quality and delivery of our work. The consultancy business also provides on-site services, primarily replication metallography used to inspect materials operating at elevated temperature, such as boiler tubes. The consultancy business frequently examines a wide range of stainless steel components across a wide range of industries and has particular expertise of corrosion in refining environments and the thermal degradation of austenitic stainless steels. R-Tech have been involved in a number of research programmes over the past decade on the modelling of the thermal degradation of stainless steel materials. Two of these projects were funded by Innovate UK, one of which was in collaboration with EDF Energy examining 250+ specimens creep tested between 550°C and 700°C for up to 190,000 hours. A classification system for the microstructural evolution of these materials and a model of the relationship between metallurgical condition and mechanical performance has been produced by R-Tech.
