  1. Tolerances to BS EN 10278 for bright stainless steel bars

Tolerances for bright drawn, ground, turned and polished stainless steel bars are shown to BS EN 10278, derived from tolerance classes to ISO 286-2. The shapes covered include round, hexagon, square and flat bar sections and include. Cross section, (diameter, width, thickness, across flats), ovality, length and straightness tolerances are tabulated.

  2. Tolerances to BS EN 10296-2 for welded stainless steel tube

In addition to chemical composition and mechanical properties, BS EN 10296-2 also gives tolerances for straightness, outside diameter, wall thickness, length, height of weld seam,

  3. Tolerances to BS EN 10297-2 for seamless stainless steel tubes

In addition to chemical composition and mechanical properties, BS EN 10297-2 also gives tolerances for straightness, outside diameter, wall thickness and length

  4. Tolerances to EN 10029 for hot rolled plate 3mm and above

A summary of tolerances for hot rolled plate, also known as quarto plate, i.e. rolled as flat plate on a reversing mill. Not applicable to plate cut from coil also known as CPP continuously produced plate. Covers thickness, width, length, flatness, out-of-squareness and edge camber.

  5. Tolerances to EN 10051 for continuously rolled hot rolled plate sheet and strip

The EN standard applicable to continuously hot rolled plate sheet and strip, also known as CPP. Covers tolerances on thickness, width, length, flatness, out of squareness, edge camber and crown. It has been superseded by ISO 9444

  6. Tolerances to ISO 18286 for hot rolled stainless steel quarto plates

This ISO standard is designed to replace EN 10029. It covers stainless steel quarto plate, (also known as reversing mill plate). There are some significant differences to the tolerances in EN 10029 which are summarised.

  7. Tolerances to ISO 9444 Part 2 for continuously rolled wide hot rolled strip, plate/sheet and cut lengths

The ISO standard is applicable to continuously hot rolled plate sheet and strip, also known as CPP. It covers wide products. It is designed to replace EN 10051 for which covers wide products in all grades of steel. Covers tolerances on thickness, width, length, flatness, out of squareness, edge camber and crown.

  8. Tolerances to ISO 9445 for cold rolled narrow and wide strip, plate/sheet and cut lengths

A summary of the requirements of ISO 9445 for cold rolled narrow and wide strip. This standard is designed to supersede EN 10258 for narrow strip and EN 10259 for wide strip and bring all cold rolled products into one document. There are no significant changes in the tolerances themselves.
