The BS EN 10088-2 is the material standard for stainless steel sheet, plate and strip for general purposes. The current edition was published in October 2014. Mechanical properties are specified, including proof and tensile strength, elongation and impact strength. The tensile properties only are tabulated in this article. LAST UPDATED 25th NOVEMBER 2014
-
The BS EN 10088-3 standard gives the mechanical properties for austenitic-ferritic, (duplex), stainless steel semi-finished products, bars, rods and sections for general purposes. The properties given are proof strength, tensile strength, elongation and hardness.

EN 10088-3 is the European Standard for stainless steel long products. It includes a provision for wire in the cold worked condition. Although this is not strictly for spring wire, (which is EN 10270-3), the properties shown in Table 18 are such that springs could be made from material in this condition
-
BS EN 10302 is the recognised standard for creep resisting steels, nickel and cobalt alloys. This article summarises the mechanical properties for the steels listed in the standard.
-
The BS EN 10088-3 standard gives the mechanical properties for ferritic stainless steel semi-finished products, bars, rods, wires, sections for general purposes. The current edition was published in October 2014. The properties given are proof strength, tensile strength, elongation and hardness for Bright Bars.

BS EN 10095 is the material standard for heat resisting steels and nickel alloys. Mechanical properties, (proof strength, tensile strength, hardness and elongation), of the common grades of stainless steel at ambient temperature covered in the standard are listed. Ferritic, austenitic and austenitic-ferritic, (duplex), grades are included.
