BSSA Talent Development Programme Update (Leadership Training Day 2) ✨

The second Leadership training session for the inaugural BSSA Talent Development Programme cohort took place on Thursday 16th November and was kindly hosted by Michael J Fox of Wera Tools in Chesterfield, who also took time out to give us a history of the company and their unique product range.
The Leadership training entitled ‘Developing Future Manufacturing Leaders’ aims to develop the concept of Leadership in an industrial context, comprising of two modules: 1. Leading Self and 2. Leading a Team. The second part of the module focused on Leading a Team and covered the following areas:
- Forming a team
- Developing others
- Motivating yourself and others
- Having difficult conversations
- Managing stakeholders
- Managing change
- Looking at the wider picture
The training was led by Liz McArdle, Steven Norgreave and Gun Gokmen from WMG, University of Warwick.
In Attendance was BSSA Vice Chair, Adam Bradley (Corrosion Resistant Materials), Luke Bradley (Acerinox), Adam Stokes (Professional Polishing Services), Darren Moult Jnr (Stainless Steel Services) and James Sweeney (Anopol).

BSSA Talent Development Programme seeks to bring together a group of highly talented individuals from member companies to collaborate on a project. The group will benefit from funded Leadership training from The University of Warwick as well as additional training such as presentation skills, public speaking, networking, customer visits and marketing.
The programme is being supported by BSSA board members Adam Bradley and Liz McArdle and the first cohort includes:
