πŸ’œ International Women’s Day 2024Β – Inspire Inclusion πŸ’œ

πŸ’œ Celebrating Women’s Achievements in the Metals Industry and Inspiring Others to Understand and Value Women’s Inclusion: A Shout-out from the BSSA πŸ’œ

Β β€œWhen we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world.

And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.

Collectively, let’s forge a more inclusive world for women” –Β

On this International Women’s Day, the BSSA proudly acknowledges the incredible contributions of women in the metals industry. We extend our heartfelt kudos to all the hardworking women who continue to shape and elevate the sector with their dedication and expertise.

Leading the charge is our very own Kirsty Davies-Chinnock, Director of the BSSA and Managing Director of Professional Polishing Services. Kirsty exemplifies excellence and resilience in her role, driving innovation and progress within the industry. Her passion for promoting diversity and empowering women has not gone unnoticed.

Moreover, Kirsty’s commitment to championing women’s roles in the metals industry extends beyond her positions at Professional Polishing Services and the BSSA. She is the founder and mastermind behind two remarkable initiatives:

πŸ’œ Women with Metal – A networking program for women in the metal industries to connect, collaborate, and share experiences. This initiative fosters a supportive community that empowers women to thrive in what has traditionally been a male-dominated field.

πŸ’œ Women In Industry Podcast – In an effort to amplify the voices of women in manufacturing, engineering, and industrial sectors, Kirsty initiated the “Women In Industry Podcast.” This engaging platform highlights the inspiring stories and career journeys of women who have made significant strides in their respective fields.

Kirsty Davies-Chinnock’s outstanding dedication has not only earned her respect within the BSSA community but has also brought her to the forefront of industry recognition. We are thrilled to share that Kirsty was a finalist for the “Woman of the Year” award at the prestigious Women of the Year Awards in October 2023. This nomination is a testament to her exceptional leadership and influence in the metals industry πŸŽ‰

Currently in the UK, Women make up 29% of the manufacturing workforce, 8% of apprentices and only 18% of company boards. Together we can shine a light on Women in Industry to improve these figures for the next generation” – Kirsty Davies-Chinnock ✨

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, let us collectively applaud the achievements of all women in the metals industry, and particularly, express our gratitude to Kirsty Davies-Chinnock for her unwavering commitment to empowering and inspiring women in this vital sector. The BSSA remains committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse industry, where every woman’s contribution is valued and celebrated πŸ’œ
